Assessment and Training on Legal Resources for Combating Sexual Assault

Global Rights for Women was awarded a contract by the U.S. Embassy in Moldova to consult with local experts who are conducting an assessment and analysis of existing legal resources for combating sexual assault in Moldova based on international human rights standards. As part of the project, GRW carried out a three-day training in Chisinau in December 2015 for stakeholders on best practices in responding to sexual assault that can be implemented in Moldova. We worked on the training with La Strada, a Moldovan NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of women’s rights, and the U.S. Embassy. In addition, Elizabeth Cutter, a judge on the Hennepin County District Court and a former prosecutor of sexual assault crimes, assisted GRW with the training.
