Global Rights for Women is working with the government of Turkey to monitor the implementation of Turkey’s 2012 domestic violence law, which allows for the use of an electronic monitoring system to increase the safety of domestic violence victims. Leading an international team, Global Rights for Women assessed a pilot project of the system in two Turkish cities and made recommendations to the government. Electronic monitoring initiatives in domestic violence cases are in place in other countries, including Spain and the United States. The project is funded by the European Union.
