Training on Best Practices in the Response to Domestic Violence

Global Rights for Women traveled to Lithuania and Serbia in April 2015 to work with legal professionals on implementation of the domestic violence laws in these countries. With the support of the government of Lithuania and local NGO, Center for Equality Advancement, in Vilnius, Lithuania and the US State Department and Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia, GRW brought a team of Minnesota legal professionals who have many years of experience enforcing similar laws. The focus of both events was the application of the world-renowned Duluth Model of Coordinated Community Response (CCR) as a tool for ensuring that laws are implemented in a way that prioritizes victim safety and offender accountability. This model recently received the Future Policy Award from the World Future Council.
