Event Manager

Global Rights for Women (GRW) is a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based international nonprofit. Founded in 2014, our mission is to work with leaders in Minnesota and around the world to advance women and girls’ human right to live free from violence through legal reform and institutional and social change. 

The Event Manager reports to the Development Director and collaborates significantly with the development and communications team. The Event Manager will help the organization meet annual event revenue goals by managing the organization, implementation, and creation of Global Rights for Women events in both Minnesota and in priority areas of the United States.

The Event Manager role will consist of the following activities: 

Fundraising Event Management and Donor Support- 60%

– Work with Development Director and Executive Director to deliver and build on GRW’s fundraising event strategy in alignment with Development and Communication and Strategic Plans

– Work alongside Development Director, relevant staff, and committee members for all annual event outreach, cultivation, and stewardship efforts for existing and new audiences

– In collaboration with Development and Communications team, oversee creation of a Global Rights for Women fundraising event model for volunteers in national priority areas to organize and support GRW-branded fundraising events

– In collaboration with relevant staff and board, manage coordination of Global Rights for Women’s fall annual event

– Work closely with Communications Manager to ensure consistent event message and brand across all written communications including fundraising campaigns, PR, website, and social media

National Expansion- 40%

– Work with Development Director to manage national outreach strategy through leveraging and driving opportunities in priority focus areas (Currently these areas are Washington, D.C., New York City, and Des Moines, IA)

– Identify opportunities for GRW staff speaking engagements in these areas

– Maintain ongoing engagement and build relationships with donors and constituents in these areas

Preferred Qualifications and Skills: 

– A bachelor’s degree or higher

– At least 3 years of large event management experience and proven track record of successful events

– At least 2-3 years of direct nonprofit fundraising experience

– Strong interpersonal skills and a record of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with constituencies such as donors, volunteers, board, staff, businesses, and/or community members

– Ability and willingness to travel to GRW headquarters if remote and to priority areas within the US.

– Experience using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, Canva, and WordPress preferred but not required

– Demonstrated success in management of multiple priorities; a multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats

– Ability to problem solve and manage fast-paced production environments

– Self-motivated and proven success in working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting

– Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Global Rights for Women

– Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups of people, including internationally

Benefits:

– This is a part-time position and salary will be commensurate with experience and within the range of similar nonprofits.

– This position can either be remote or in-person at our headquarters in Minneapolis, MN.
